Controller

They are hiring a Controller to manage financial reporting and planning, help lead day-to-day accounting functions, and support the overall growth of the Accounting Department.

The Controller will be responsible for conducting month-end reports and budget analysis, as well as overseeing process improvements and system implementations. This person should be adept at learning new systems, programs, and applications.

Focus:

Manage a team of direct reports with accounting, finance, and billing responsibilities – while also working hands-on to support each of these functional areas. Prepare financial analysis, budgets, projections, month-end closings, financial reports, and forecasts. Compile and analyze data sets to assist with process optimizations. Advise management teams on business operations and suggest changes to improve financial outlook and processes. Deliver quarterly/annual financial reports to stakeholders.

Develop and review internal controls and auditing procedures. Maintain current knowledge of payroll and other finance-related software systems. Present financial statements, covenant compliance, and variance analysis. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal government regulations.

Skill Set:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA certification is a plus. 3+ years of controller experience, running day-to-day accounting functions at a midmarket company ($40-100M) preferred. 7-10+ years of finance, accounting, or other controls-related management experience. Strong knowledge of and/or ability to learn accounting software systems. Experience with Sage Intacct, a plus. Thorough experience in establishing internal controls, conducting accounting processes and procedures, and leveraging financial analysis techniques.

Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SEC, and accounting best practice policies. Highly skilled in time management, task prioritization, adaptability, and interpersonal skills. Possess a willingness to lead by example through performing hands-on accounting duties.
