Our client provides advanced machining services that benefit various industries including defense, aviation, and medical sectors. They are hiring a Controller to manage the company’s financial reporting and planning and help lead day-to-day accounting functions.
The Controller will be responsible for conducting month-end reports and budget analysis, as well as overseeing process improvements and system implementations. This person should be adept at learning new systems, programs, and applications.

Focus:
Oversee accounting activities, including A/R, A/P, cash flow, and general ledger reconciliation. Assist with financial planning, budgets, and forecasting. Compile data sets to assist with process optimization and to back up process-change ideas. Oversee a team of direct reports with accounting, finance, and billing responsibilities. Advise management teams on business operations and suggest changes to improve financial outlook and processes. Deliver quarterly/annual financial reports to stakeholders. Manage accounting activities and monthly close processes. Ensure all major financial deadlines (reconciliation, tax filings, etc.) are met. Review internal controls and auditing procedures. Ensure adherence to GAAP best practices, government regulations, and proper tax procedure nationally. Develop business plans, budgets, and profitability initiatives.
Skill Set:
5+ years of financial management, accounting, or other controls-related experience. Must be well-versed in finance from an operations standpoint. Financial background in the manufacturing industry highly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA/CMA certification is a strong plus. Experience establishing and improving internal controls. Strong leadership and communication skills. Understanding of GAAP and best practice international accounting policies. Expert knowledge of MS Excel and other accounting software.
