As the industry experiences exponential expansion and heightened demand, our client seeks to hire Construction Risk and Contract Counsel.
The Construction Risk and Contract Counsel will play a pivotal role within our client’s legal team, focusing on the dynamic landscape of fidelity and surety law. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the group’s core practice areas, which encompass litigation in both state and federal courts, counseling, dispute resolution, and contract drafting and negotiation.

Focus:
Provide expert legal advice and guidance on fidelity and surety matters, including construction disputes, mechanics’ liens, and construction contract preparation and negotiation. Collaborate with a dedicated team of attorneys, consultants, and clients to deliver comprehensive legal solutions in a team-oriented environment. Conduct legal research to stay updated on the evolving laws and regulations. Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and related documents, ensuring they are compliant with legal requirements and aligned with clients’ interests.
Offer strategic counsel to clients to mitigate risks and optimize outcomes in fidelity and surety matters.
Skill Set
Hold between 3 and 10 years of legal practice within fidelity and surety law or closely associated fields. Strong knowledge of the construction industry, either from a practical or legal perspective.
Prior experience in construction dispute resolution, mechanics’ liens, and/or preparation and negotiation of construction contracts is advantageous. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively. Excellent academic credentials and a track record of professional achievement. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting, fostering a collegial and supportive work environment. Current license to practice law in the State of Texas.
