As a Construction Associate, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the realization of sustainable and innovative energy projects through a legal lens. Your primary responsibility will encompass overseeing construction activities from a legal standpoint, ensuring compliance with regulations, contracts, and industry best practices.

Focus:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide legal oversight on construction activities, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory frameworks throughout project lifecycles.
• Participate in contract negotiation and administration with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders involved in construction projects, ensuring contractual compliance.
• Ensure all construction activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards, mitigating potential legal risks.
• Identify and assess legal risks associated with construction projects, strategizing and implementing solutions to safeguard project outcomes.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, environmental, and legal experts, for seamless project integration.
• Maintain comprehensive legal documentation, including construction reports, compliance records, and legal correspondence.
• Effectively communicate legal considerations and updates to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Proactively address legal challenges related to construction, leveraging your expertise to formulate innovative solutions.
• Provide legal insights and support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring legal concerns are effectively managed.

Skill Set

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 3+ years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to construction law, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques, particularly within the energy sector.
• Excellent analytical skills, proficiency in assessing legal challenges, and proposing effective solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with construction-related regulations, codes, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in legal research, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
