Concrete Field Engineer

Hands-on field experience with real-time problem-solving and autonomy.
Focus:
Conduct site investigations and field testing activities including but not limited to soil borings, concrete sampling, compaction testing, and groundwater measurements.
Perform standardized tests on construction materials (e.g., soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregates) following ASTM and AASHTO guidelines.
Enforce quality control measures and verify material conformance with engineering specifications and project requirements.
Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation including field logs, photos, test data, and material certifications.
Collaborate with lab technicians, project managers, contractors, and site personnel to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Contribute to the drafting of daily field reports and assist in compiling final engineering and technical documentation.
Support geotechnical design tasks such as reviewing subgrade conditions, retaining structures, and drainage evaluations.
Uphold rigorous safety practices and comply with environmental and regulatory standards.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
Foundational coursework in soil mechanics and an understanding of field-testing techniques.
0–5 years of relevant experience in construction inspection, materials testing, or QA/QC fieldwork.
Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO standards and construction quality protocols.
Strong attention to detail, written communication, and documentation practices.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Availability to work varied shifts (including occasional nights or weekends) based on project needs.
Commitment to achieving ACI, NETTCP, or related certifications within the first 3 months of employment.
