Our client, a prominent organization in the legal services sector, is seeking a highly qualified Bilingual General Counsel to join their team. This role involves providing expert legal guidance and strategic advice, particularly in the realm of immigration law. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in legal contract negotiation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while supporting the organization’s objectives.

Focus:

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on matters related to immigration law and regulations, ensuring the organization operates within all applicable legal frameworks.
• Lead and manage contract negotiations, working closely with internal stakeholders to draft, review, and finalize agreements that align with the organization’s goals.
• Represent the organization in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other matters where expert legal counsel is required.
• Stay updated on changes in immigration law and other relevant regulations, advising the organization on necessary adjustments to policies or procedures.
• Collaborate with external legal advisors, as needed, to ensure the organization’s interests are fully protected.
• Offer training and guidance to staff on legal matters, particularly those related to contract law and immigration regulations.

Skill Set:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 5 plus years’ experience in immigration law, with a proven ability to navigate complex legal environments.
• Strong expertise in contract negotiation and drafting, with a keen eye for detail.
• Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts in both languages.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing legal risks.
• Experience working within the legal services industry.
• Prior experience as General Counsel or in a senior legal role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel up to 50%
